Matar Ka Paratha is stuffed paratha with spicy green peas, it can be served with any side dishes like yoghurt or pickle. Delicious whole wheat flatbread stuffed with a spiced mashed peas filling is also a great lunch box option. Paratha is an Indian flatbread which is made with whole wheat flour stuffed with veggies. They are usually eaten as breakfast in northern and eastern part of India. When sweet peas mixed with spices and then stuffed inside the wheat dumplings are often reminds chilli winter, it is due to the availability of peas in the market, there are various recipes being prepared using peas. For the preparation of fillings

  • 1 Cup Green Peas
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Wheat flour
  • 1 tsp Mango powder
  • 1 tsp Chopped green chilli
  • 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Carrom seeds
  • 1 tsp Ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Roasted cumin powder

For the Paratha (Flatbreads)

  • 1 Cup Wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp Clarified butter
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Salt
  1. In a container add 1/2 cup green peas, add 1 cup of water, 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp of salt and boil it



  2. Strain and wash the peas.



  3. Place it between the plastic wrap and using the rolling pin roll it.



  4. It should look coarsely ground.



  5. Transfer it into another container.



  6. Add 1 tbsp of wheat flour.



  7. Add 1 tsp of mango powder.



  8. Add chopped green chilli, carrom seeds and coriander leaves.



  9. Add ginger and garlic paste into it.



  10. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, roasted cumin powder and salt.



  11. Combine them using hand and prepare a dough.



  12. Divide them into equal parts.



  13. Now knead the dough once again and divide them into equal parts.



  14. Prepare the bowl shape and put the filling into it.



  15. Roll it to prepare the flatbread.



  16. Place it on the griddle and let it cook.



  17. Flip it over and apply clarified butter.



  18. Paratha is ready to be served.
