Aloo Parwal (Potato-Pointed Gourd) Mixed Curry Recipe

This traditional dish of Indian subcontinent got an amazing applause due to its delicacy. Under my experimental cooking I am adding yet another twist to the recipe to make it more delicious, let’s learn how to cook this delicious curry.

Aloo Prwal (Potato- Pointed Gourd) Mixed Curry Recipe

  • 1 cup Diagonally chopped pointed gourd
  • 1 Piece Diced potatoes
  • 1 tbsp Green chili paste
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 cup Tomato Paste
  • 1 cup Onion paste
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tbsp Degi Mirch / Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Mixed vegetable powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt (As per your taste)
  • 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Piece Dried Red Chili
  • 1 tsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  1. Take all the ingredients as shown in the image.
  2. Mix water in the bowl of spices and make a paste.
  3. Cut the pointed gourd as shown in the image.
  4. Mix a tsp of turmeric powder and salt in the sliced ingredients.
  5. Fry them using mustard oil and put them aside.
  6. In a pan add oil and tamper cumin seeds as shown in the image.
  7. Add dried red chili in the pan.
  8. Add ginger and garlic paste in the pan and cook them for sometime.
  9. Add onion paste in the pan.
  10. Add green chili paste in the pan.
  11. Add tomato paste in the same pan.
  12. Cook them unless their rawness disappears.
  13. Add the spice mix paste in the pan.
  14. Add fried potato and pointed gourd.
  15. Mix them as shown in the image and cook for sometime.
  16. Add half a cup of water and cook them.
  17. Add salt in the pan and put the lid on and cook it for 2 minutes.
  18. Add a tsp of clarified butter for aroma.
  19. Add coriander leaves and mix them well.
  20. Serve it with steamed rice.
