Aloo Tikki Chat Recipe

Aloo tikki chat is very common street food of Indian subcontinents, but it can be easily prepared at home, there is no much embellishment just few ingredients and your recipe is ready to be served. Let’s learn step by step process to cook this recipe at home.

Aloo Tikki Chat Recipe

  • 1 cup Boiled and Mashed Potatos
  • 1 cup Yellow peas boiled and cooked with spices (Soaked in water for 12 hours (Beforehand))
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Black Salt
  • 1 tbsp Dry roasted Cumin and carom seeds (Powder of both the ingredients )
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Green chili
  • 1 tbsp Tamarind Chutney
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Sauce (Any sauce of your choice or green chutney)
  • 2 tbsp sev (Indian friend snacks small pieces of crunchy noodles of chickpea flour)
  • 1 tbsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Degi Mirch / Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Mustard Oil
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tbsp Curd
  1. Take boiled potatoes and mash them, add turmeric powder, chopped green chili, coriander powder, salt, black pepper powder, a pinch of red chili powder with few drops of mustard oil and prepare a dough.
  2. Prepare the shapes as shown in the image, heat a pan and sear them with few drops of vegetable oil.
  3. Turn them golden brown from both the sides and put it aside.
  4. In a plate decorate aloo tikki as shown in the image.
  5. Spread boiled and cooked yellow peas chola.
  6. Sprinkle some sev and curd on it.
  7. Add black salt,roasted cumin seeds, tomato sauce, tamarind chutney on it as shown in the image.
  8. Garnish it with coriander leaves and chopped onion and serve it.
