Beetroot Pittha Kheer Recipe

Pittha kheer hails from eastern part of India i.e. Bihar, it is a sweet dish prepared on special occasions. I’ve added a twist to the same recipe by adding a color of beetroot to make it more flavorful. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Beetroot Pittha Kheer Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp Dry wheat flour
  • 1/2 Liter Milk
  • 1 tbsp Each dry-fruits like resins, cashewnuts and almongs
  • 1 tbsp Beetroot juice
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Clarified butter (Ghee)
  1. Take wheat flour and divide them as shown in the image.
  2. Prepare dough as shown in the image.
  3. Prepare pittha as shown in the image and remove extra dry wheat flour.
  4. Heat a pan and add clarified butter into it, then add pittha and roast them.
  5. Add dry fruits of your choice except resins.
  6. Add thee ingredients in milk and keep cooking.
  7. Add sugar and all the dry fruits and a tbsp of beetroot.
  8. Serve it by decorating it with dry fruits.
