Kadha Recipe (Ayurvedic Drink)

Kadha is an ayurvedic drink prepared with several herbs and spices which can be easily available in every Indian kitchen. This decoction is best to enhance immunity and fight against infection, it is best way to put illness at bay. It is not necessary that only one who is suffering from cold can have this bouillon, nevertheless one can have this drink during the change in weather or season. One can even use the leaves of night jasmine (हरसिंगार ), let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Kadha Recipe

  • 2 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Jaggery
  • 1 tsp Black pepper corn
  • 1 tsp Clarified butter (Ghee)
  • 1 tsp Holy Basil powder (One can use fresh leaves as well.)
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1 Piece Cinnamon Stick
  • 4 Pieces Cloves
  1. In a hand blender add black pepper corn, cinnamon stick, cloves and ginger and roughly grind them.
  2. Meanwhile heat water and add jaggery pieces.
  3. I have prepared this holy basil leaves powder, one can use fresh leaves as well.
  4. Add a tbsp of holy basil powder in the same boiling water.
  5. Add grind ingredients as shown in the image.
  6. Take it out in the serving cup.
  7. Drizzle few drops of clarified butter in the cup and the kadha recipe is ready for consumption.
