Palak (Spinach) Saag Recipe

Saag is the recipe of Indian subcontinents, which is served with rice or chapatis. There are several varieties of saag and even method of cooking also varies from one to another province. Here I’m using spinach to prepare saag in a traditional way. Let’s learn how to cook Palak Saag recipe.

Palak (Spinach) Saag Recipe

  • 1 cup Boiled Spinach
  • 1 tbsp Mustard Oil
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder
  1. Take a pan and tamper the cumin seeds.
  2. Add mustard oil in the same pan followed by chopped onion, green chili and chopped garlic.
  3. Add mustard powder mix it well, when it turns golden brown then add boiled spinach. (Note: you can use non boiled spinach leaves also but for saving time I’m using boiled spinach leaves.)
  4. Mix all the ingredients and with the help of spoon keep stirring it.
  5. After 10 to 15 minutes turn off the flame and serve it.
