Quick Dal (Lentil) Recipe

Today I though to share a recipe which is our daily diet, it is very quick recipe and can be served with rice or any flatbread. Let’s learn step by step process to cook this recipe.

Quick Dal Recipe

  • 4 tbsp Tuvar (Toor) Pulses
  • 3 tbsp Pink Lentils
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Mustard Oil (You can use clarified butter or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Garlic (One can also add dried red chili, chopped onion etc)
  1. Take these lentils and wash them and let them stay under water for 2 minutes.
  2. Add water lentils, salt and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker and let them cook for 10 minutes or with 5 whistles.
  3. Prepare the tempering by cumin seeds, oil and garlic cloves.
  4. Add the tempering into the pressure cooker.
  5. Regular dal recipe is ready to be served.
