Soya chunks And Potato Filled Appam Recipe

Under my experimental cooking, I though to change appam recipe by adding a delight into it. I chose the batter of rice and lentils for the appam, and spice mixed soya nuggets and boiled potato as filling of the recipe. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Soya chunks And Potato Filled Appam Recipe

  • 1 cup Idli batter/ Appam batter (Batter of rice and lentils)
  • 2 tbsp Boiled soya nuggets
  • 1 Piece Boiled potato
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Sabji masala without onion grlic
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri mirch powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  1. Peel off boiled potato and strain water from soya nuggets.
  2. Mash them together as shown in the image.
  3. Add all the spices in the mashed ingredients.
  4. Mix them well.
  5. Prepare the bolls and dip them in the batter of lentils and rice.
  6. Grease the appam tray with oil and put the appam.
  7. Cook them from both the sides.
  8. Serve it with your favourite chutney, sauces or mayonnaise
