Suji (Semolina) Halwa Recipe

Suji halwa is very common and quick sweet dish, which is cooked during every auspicious occasion and common recipe of every Indian kitchen. Traditionally it is prepared with  suji (semolina), Wheat flour, Beshan (Gram flour) etc. along with dry fruits, milk , Sugar by mixing it. Let’s learn how to cook Suji halwa.

Suji (Semolina) Halwa Recipe

  • 1 cup Semolina
  • 2 tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  • 1/2 cup Water/Milk
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tea Spoon Cardamom Powder
  • 1 tbsp Resins
  • 1 tbsp Cashewnuts
  • 1 tbsp Almonds
  1. Heat a pan and dry roast all the dry fruits except resins, In the same pan add ghee and semolina.
  2. Roast it till it turn golden brown as shown in the image.
  3. Add water in the consistency as shown in the image.
  4. Turn off the flame and add sugar and dry fruits. I’ve added sugar after turning off the flame because we don’t want to turn it into sugar syrup.
  5. Decorate it with dry-fruits and serve it.
