Vrat ka Pua (Sugar free Pua) | फलाहारी पुआ

During the festivals we have only few choices, but using non grains we can cook many delights, under my experimental cooking I tried this unique recipe of pua which is non grain, no sugar pua. Let’s learn how to prepare this recipe.

Vrat ka Pua (Sugar free Pua) | फलाहारी पुआ

  • 2 Pieces Banana (The small-sized banana will be good, as they have sweet virtue )
  • 6 Pieces Almond
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Funnel seeds
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Raw sugar candy (Mishri)
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder
  • ½ tsp Saffron threads
  • 1 tsp Kewda water
  • 3 tbsp Clarified butter
  • 1 tbsp Milk powder
  • 1 tbsp Samak rice flour (Vrat ka atta)
  • ½ cup Water caltrop fruit flour (Singhade ka atta)
  • 1 tbsp Desiccated coconut
  1. Take a grinding jar add the slices of banana into it.



  2. Add milk, mishri and almond.



  3. Add samak rice flour and water caltrop fruit flour.



  4. Add milk, cardamom powder and desiccated coconut.



  5. Grind them well to form a paste, transfer that paste into a container.



  6. Add fennel seeds, mix them well and put it aside for 30 minutes.



  7. Meanwhile, prepare the sweet syrup. In a saucepan add 1 cup water and 1 cup mishri.



  8. When mishri starts to dissolve into it, then add ½ tsp cardamon powder and ⅔ tsp of Saffron threads. Cook unless it becomes sticky.



  9. In a wok add 3 tbsp of clarified butter.



  10. With the help of a ladle prepare the shapes of pua.



  11. Flip it over when gets cooked from one side.



  12. Add it into the sugar syrup for few minutes then remove it from the syrup and serve it.
