Fried Chana Dal (Yellow Split Peas) Tadka Recipe
Tadka Dal recipe with yellow split peas add tranquil charm to the lentils. I’ve used only chana dal to make it more delightful but skipped the usage of whole hot spices, because that adds value during winters and now its summer so I thought to replace them with garam masala powder. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this delicious chana dal recipe. I’ve used pressure cooking so there is no add on tempering required, just the process of cooking starts with tempering and this process of cooking is very easy and quick. Fried Chana Dal (Yellow Split Peas) Tadka Recipe
- 1 cup Overnight Soaked yellow Split Peas
- 4 tbsp Chopped Onion
- 1 tbsp Chopped Garlic
- 1 tbsp Chopped Green chili
- 3 tbsp Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbsp Degi Mirch / Red Chili Powder
- 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
- In pressure cooker add cumin seeds and let them splutter, add oil in it.
- Add chopped onion and let them turn translucent.
- Add chopped green chili followed by chopped garlic.
- Add chopped tomatoes and let them stir fry unless they becomes little soft.
- Add split yellow peas and fry them for 2 more minutes.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder and garam masala powder and mix them well.
- Add two cups of water and pressure cook them for 10 minutes.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot.
