Paneer Butter Masala

Paneer butter masala is one of the famous vegetarian recipe made with cottage cheese, this recipe is very delicious due to its rich gravy and texture seems authentic and thick which go well with rice or chapatis, there are several ways of cooking this recipe, everyone cooks this differently. So let’s learn how I tried this recipe.

 

Butter Paneer Masala

For Marination

  • 200 gm Paneer
  • 2 tbsp Curd
  • 1 tsp Kasoori methi
  • 1 tbsp Tandoori masala
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp Salt

For gravy

  • 1 tbsp Chapped onion
  • 1 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 1 tbsp Clarified butter
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 pieces Tomato
  • 3 Pieces Green chilli
  • 1 tbsp Poppy seeds and cashew nuts each (Soaked in water for 1 hour)

Curry preparation

  • 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • ¼ cup Diced onion
  • 3 Piece Green chilli
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Salt

Marinade preparation

  1. In a bowl add cottage cheese and curd in the bowl.



  2. Add 1 tsp of kasoori methi in the same bowl.



  3. Add 1 tbsp of tandoori masala powder in the bowl.



  4. Add all the spices and salt into the bowl.



  5. Mix them well and put it aside for half an hour.



Gravy preparation

  1. Take a diced onion and green chilli.



  2. In a pan add 1 tsp of oil and fry the diced onion.



  3. Fry the marinated paneer.



  4. When paneer got roasted from both the sides then switch off the flame and put it aside.



  5. In a wok add clarified butter and oil.



  6. Add tomato, green chilli and grind poppy seeds, cashew nuts into it.



  7. Grind it when they cool down.



Gravy curry preparation

  1. In a wok add 1 tsp of cumin seeds.



  2. Add 1 tbsp oil.



  3. Add green chilli.



  4. Add 1 tsp of turmeric powder and red chilli powder.



  5. Add fried diced onion.



  6. Add grind ingredients into it.



  7. Mix them well.



  8. Add garam masala powder and red chilli powder into the wok.



  9. Add salt and mix it well.



  10. Add fried paneer into the wok.



  11. Mix them well.



  12. Cover the lid and cook it.



  13. Add chopped coriander leaves.



  14. Serve it with rice or chapatis.
