Aloo Matar Curry
Aloo Matar is the name given to a recipe being prepared using potato and green peas, it is very healthy curry recipe, it can be served with rice or chapatis, one can try this recipe quickly at home, during the winters, as peas are available in the market hence recipes along with peas are also very common at homes during the session, the gravy rich with spices and peas seems amazing when few spices get added into it. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.
Aloo Matar Curry
- 2 Piece Boiled Potatoes
- 1/2 cup Green peas
- 1 Piece Green peas
- 1 tbsp Garlic cloves
- 1 Piece Ginger
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Salt (As per the taste )
- 1 tbsp Mustard oil
- 1 tsp Clarified butter
- 1 tbsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp Sabji masala powder
- 1 tsp Black peppercorns
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 Piece Onion
- 1 Piece Tomato
- 2 tbsp Chopped onion
- 1 Piece Bay leaf
In a grinding jar add green chilli, garlic, ginger, black peppercorn, cumin seeds, onion and tomato, grind them to form a paste.
In a wok add mustard oil, clarified butter as it starts heating add a bay leaf.
Add chopped onion and stir fry them.
Add grind ingredients and mix them together.
Stir fry them unless the oil separates.
Add turmeric powder and salt.
Add Kashmiri red chilli powder and sabji masala powder.
Stir fry the spices and then add water as per the gravy required.
Add green peas and cook them with gravy for ten minutes.
Add boiled potatoes, by beaking it with hands.
Mix them and cook them for some more time.
Switch off the flame, garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and the recipe is ready.
The recipe is ready to be served.
