Gur Ka Khurma |Gur Para/ Gur Pare| गुर का खुरमा | गुर पारा

Gur Khurma / Gur Para or Gur Pare Recipe is prepared with all-purpose flour(Maida) or wheat flour, coated in jaggery syrup and flavoured with cardamom and fennel seeds. I am preparing this recipe with wheat flour which is more healthy, it is a quick and easy festival sweet. During the festivals like Diwali, Holi, Dussehra etc. generally, there are lots of household chores which make it tough to invest an immense amount of time in the kitchen, hence women prepare such snacks to serve the guests instantly. It is an authentic and appetizing dish of Bihar, U.P. and Punjab, that is made on special occasions. It’s a traditional deep-fried sweet made with wheat flour, flavoured with fennel seeds and later sweetened with jaggery (Gur) or sugar. Here I am using jaggery and wheat flour.
