Methi Pyaz paratha | मेथी प्याज के पराठे
Methi & Pyaz paratha is a healthy and tasty whole wheat flatbread made with fenugreek leaves and onion. These flatbreads are a healthy alternative to plain paratha and packed with more flavours and nutrition. Methi paratha is a quick and healthy breakfast or a side appurtenance to any curry. Fenugreek or methi leaves are easily found in India and they can also be grown easily in your balcony or herb garden if you have one. Methi and Pyaz paratha can even be served as lunch for kids.
Since my childhood days, I am witnessing this recipe, my mom used to cook this recipe for our lunch box, my friends use to snatch it whenever I was bringing this paratha in my tiffin box. Today commemorating the childhood days cooking the same flatbread with love, let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.
Methi Pyaz paratha | मेथी प्याज के पराठे
- 1 Cup Wheat flour
- 1/4 tsp Onion seeds
- 1 tsp Celery seeds
- 1/4 Cup Onion
- 1/4 Cup Fenugreek leaves
- 1 tsp Mango powder
- 1 tsp Roasted cumin and carom seeds
- 1 tsp Chaat masala powder
- 1 tsp Kasoori methi
- 1 tsp Ginger and garlic paste
- 1 tsp Black salt and sea salt each
- 1 tsp Black pepper powder
- 2 tbsp Clarified butter (For roasting the flatbread )
Take a bowl and add 1 cup of wheat flour, onion seeds and carrom seeds.
Add all the spices, fenugreek leaves, onion & salt.
Add water and prepare a dough, if you want then add 1 tbsp of clarified butter.
Cover it with a damp cloth and put it aside.
Divide the dough into equal parts.
Dust the balls with dry flour and put it aside.
Roll them using a rolling pin and rolling board.
Sear it on the griddle.
Apply clarified butter.
The recipe is ready to be served.
