Ramdana/Amarnath Seeds Kheer

Amarnath seeds or Ramdana is basically prepared for fasting as it is considered as non grain. It is very nutritious and have amazing health benefits. Some of them are:

It resembles like poppy seeds but the only difference between them is when you take a close view of both the seeds, you will find ramdana is spherical where as poppy seeds looks like tiny cashew nuts. So next time you visit the shop try to recognize them by yourself. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Ramdana/Amarnath Seeds Kheer

  • 1/2 cup Ramdana/Amarnath seeds
  • 1 tbsp Jaggery
  • 1 cup Boiled mil
  • 1 tbsp Dry fruits of your choice
  1. I’ve brought ramdana online as it was not available in any super market.
  2. It looks like this.
  3. Heat a pan having thick base, as these seeds pops and even burns very easily, so need proper temperature so that they can not burn instead can pop properly.
  4. After getting popped it will become as shown in the image.
  5. In a bowl add grated jaggery.
  6. Add grated dry fruits and some resins.
  7. Pour milk and amarnath seeds and stir them all together.
  8. Eat during fasting and enjoy its health benefit.
