In this article we will talk about Suryaashtakam, this strotra has been taken from Sambh puran, where he narrated this stotram for appeasing Lord Surya. Lord Surya is the power source of this world, and he is the only God who is visible to all. Sunrise always discards darkness, those who recite this hymn get the blessings of lord sun. Those who want to get complete benefit of this stotram may recite it every morning while offering water in a copper vessel along with rice, red Chandan and mishri gets self-purification. This offering heals many diseases. Those who are not getting success may recite this stotra or adityahriduyam for instant success.

In Rigveda, it has been mentioned that those who wake up before sunrise gets all things done with the blessings of Lord Sun. The rays of Sun removes all physical, mental and spiritual weaknesses. The chanting of mantras gives us the power to absorb the positivity from the environment. 

सूर्याष्टकम्

आदिदेव नमस्तुभ्यं प्रसीद मम भास्कर ।
दिवाकर नमस्तुभ्यं प्रभाकर नमोऽस्तु ते
सप्ताश्वरथमारूढं प्रचण्डं कश्यपात्मजम् ।
श्वेतपद्मधरं देवं तं सूर्यं प्रणमाम्यहम्
लोहितं रथमारूढं सर्वलोकपितामहम् ।
महापापहरं देवं तं सूर्यं प्रणमाम्यहम्
त्रैगुण्यं च महाशूरं ब्रह्मविष्णुमहेश्वरम् ।
महापापहरं देवं तं सूर्यं प्रणमाम्यहम्
बृंहितं तेजःपुञ्जं च वायुमाकाशमेव च ।
प्रभुं च सर्वलोकानां तं सूर्यं प्रणमाम्यहम्
बन्धुकपुष्पसङ्काशं हारकुण्डलभूषितम् ।
एकचक्रधरं देवं तं सूर्यं प्रणमाम्यहम्
तं सूर्यं जगत्कर्तारं महातेजः प्रदीपनम् ।
महापापहरं देवं तं सूर्यं प्रणमाम्यहम्
तं सूर्यं जगतां नाथं ज्ञानविज्ञानमोक्षदम् ।
महापापहरं देवं तं सूर्यं प्रणमाम्यहम्

English Meaning Of Stotram: 

O Lord Sun, who is existing in this world from very olden time I preach you. Please get appeased on me, O Lord Diwakar I greet you, O, Prabhakar, I greet you. The one who is riding on the chariot having seven horses, having a white flower in the hand, extremely powerful, kashyap kumar ( Sun of kashyap sage) Lord Sun I greet you, the one who is the father of this world, the one who discards every sin of devotees, I greet you. 

The one who removes the intense sin, I preach to the Lord Sun, the one who is glorious and courageous, the one who is in the form of air and sky, the master of whole world I greet you. The one who is like a brother, one who is as red as noon flower. The one who is ornated with garland and earings. The one who is holding one wheel, I greet him. The one whose light is extremely powerful, the creator of the world, the one who is discarded of every sin, I preach to the god Sun.

The one who is the hero of this world, the one who is provider of knowledge, science and even salvation. The one who removes even hug sins of his devotees, I greet him.
