आलू पत्तागोभी सब्ज़ी – Aloo Patta Gobhi sabzi – Cabbage Potato Dry Curry

Some times simple homely kind of side dish is all we crave for. Today I have one such side dish made from cabbage, potato and concoction of spices.” Bandh Gobhi / Patta Gobhi Aloo ki Sabji . Cabbage Potato Sabzi is basically a stir fry with some potatoes and cabbage leaves. It could not be a dinner party dish but certainly one of the most favorite dish after a long day at work, Its tasty and jiffy. Serve it with roti or dal rice or even stuff it in bread and relish your sandwich, the choice is yours.

It is simple, delightful, uncomplicated and full of flavours. Great for a quick weeknight meal. I have cooked it first as a gravy curry then I cooked it again just to reduce its curry to make it a dry version, there are several version of the same recipe, I’ve already shared the simple stir fry version earlier. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

आलू पत्तागोभी सब्ज़ी – Aloo Patta Gobhi sabzi – Cabbage Potato Dry Curry

  • 1 Cup Chopped cabbage
  • 1 tsp Mustard oil
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 Piece Green chilli
  • ½ Slice Onion chopped
  • 1 Piece Tomato chopped
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Coriander powder
  • ½ tsp Sabji masala powder
  • ½ tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp Salt (As per the taste )
  • ¼ Cup Water
  1. In a wok add oil, cumin seeds & green chilli let them temper, then add onion cook them unless they become translucent.



  2. Add tomatoes, cook them unless becomes soft, then add diced potatoes cook them adding spices & salt, then add cabbage and cook again by putting the lid on.



  3. Add ¼ cup of water and cook them by covering it then remove the lid and add garam masala powder,



  4. Serve it with chapati or bread.
