Aloo Mtar (Potato-Peas) Curry Recipe Using Pressure Cooker
Potato peas curry recipe is very common during winter season due to availability of fresh aromatic green peas , but nowadays frozen peas are also available in the market to enjoy this recipe anytime. I’ve used pressure cooker to prepare this recipe so that aroma and authentic flavor can be imbibed in the recipe. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.
Aloo Mtar (Potato-Peas) Curry Recipe Using Pressure Cooker
- 1 cup Peas
- 1/2 cup Peeled potatoes cut into half inches
- 1 Piece Bay leaf
- 1 Piece Dried Red Chili
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tbsp Mustard Oil
- 2 tbsp Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
- 1 tsp Salt (As per your taste )
- 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Kashmiri mirch powder
- 1 tbsp Chicken masala powder/Sabji masala powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- Heat a tbsp of mustard oil in the pressure cooker and add dried red chili, cumin seeds and bay leaf.
- Add chopped tomatoes in the cooker and stir fry them unless they turns soft.
- Add salt, garam masala powder and turmeric powder in the cooker and mix them well.
- Add peas and stir fry them for few minutes.
- Add peeled and half inch pieces of potatoes in the same cooker and stir fry them.
- When all the spices stars emitting aroma then add chicken masala powder.
- Add half a cup of water and pressure cook it with 3 whistles.
- After it gets cooked and pressure emerge out then remove the lid and check whether extra water need to be removed and do it by cooking it without lid if required.
- Serve it by sprinkling chopped coriander leaves.
