Today, I’m making a quinoa recipe that is great for fasting, as quinoa is a seed and not a grain, legume, or pulse. It can be eaten during Navratri, ekadashi, and other fasts, just like samak ke chawal, singhade ka aata, and kuttu ka aata. Quinoa is a superfood that can help with weight loss because of its high fibre and protein content, which increases metabolism. With five grams of dietary fibre per cup, quinoa is an excellent choice for those looking to lose weight. This fasting recipe does not use ingredients such as onion, garlic, and spices, which are prohibited during fasting.

Quinoa Pulao for Fasting | Fasting Recipe for Weight Loss | Nongrain Food for Vrat

  • ¼ Cup Quinoa
  • ½ Cup Water
  • ¼ Cup Chopped veggies (Of your choice )
  • ¼ tsp Clarified butter
  • ¼ tsp Rock salt
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper powder
  • ¼ Cup Cashew nuts
  1. Wash and strain ¼ cup of Quinoa seeds.



  2. Add ½ tsp of clarified butter into the pan and heat it, then add cashew nuts and roast it unless brown.



  3. Add washed and strained quinoa into the pan and roast it.



  4. Add veggies and water and cook it for some time.



  5. Add cashew nuts and cook together for some time.



  6. Add seasonings like black pepper and rock salt and cook everything together by putting the lid on.



  7. Switch off the flame and put the lid on for 10 minutes.



  8. The recipe is ready to be served.
