Bihari Poha/Chura Pulao Recipe

Before I got to know Indori Poha recipe I use to know chura pulao only, but got amazed having poha jalebi recipe while my stay at Indore (M.P India), and it was really good, but as I grew up eating chura pulao that is poha hence I wanted to share this recipe so that one can try this sumptuous delight. Here I’ve used small flattened rice. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Bihari Poha/Chura Pulao Recipe

  • 1 cup Flattened Rice
  • 2 tbsp Peanuts
  • 1 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 1 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Curry leaf
  • 1 tbsp Sprouts
  • 1 tsp Green peas
  • 2 tbsp Chopped cauliflower
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Chopped capsicum
  • 2 tbsp Red cabbage
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri mirch powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Lemon uice
  1. I have taken small sized flattened rice, you can use any one as per your choice.
  2. Soak and strain the flattened rice.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and roast peanuts unless they turn golden brown.
  4. Add black mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  5. Add curry leaf in the pan and mix it well.
  6. Add sprouts, cauliflower florets and tomatoes in the pan.
  7. Add capsicum, pea and red cabbage in the pan.
  8. Add turmeric powder, salt, coriander powder and kashmiri mirch powder.
  9. Cook them for some time.
  10. Add soaked flattened rice and peanuts in the same pan.
  11. Mix them well and switch off the flame.
  12. Serve it hot by drizzling lemon juice.
