Dwadash Jyotir Linga Stotram
This hymn is recited and chanted to get rid of sins being committed by the individuals, we are normal human beings, unaware about the past life and the deeds, but chanting this hymn can easily discard all the bad omen from the individuals, hence freeing the individuals from sin and its result, it is a powerful devotional hymn used for the worship of Shiva. Jyotirlinga refers to radiance sign of lord Shiva. There are twelve holy Jyotirlinga shrines in India.
Meaning
(1) Somanath is situated in Saurashtra and Mallikarjunam is located in Shri-Shailam, Mahakaal jyotirling is located in Ujjain, Omkareshwar jyotirling in Amleshwar.
(2) Vaidyanath jyotirling is located in Paralya and Bhimashankaram jyotirling is located in Dakinya, Rameshwaram jyotirlig is situated in Sethubandh, Nageshwar is located in Darauka-Vana.
(3) Lord Shiva in the form of jyotirlinga Vishvanath in Vanarasi, Lord Triambakam at bank of the river Gautami, Lord Shiva in the form of Kedarnath in Himalayas and Gushmeshwar jyotirling is located in Shivalaya.
(4) One who recites these Jyotirlingas every morning and evening their all the sins gets discarded by Lord Shiva even even lives sin got discarded. One, who visits these, gets all his wishes fulfilled by Shiva grace and one’s wrong deeds gets eradicated as lord Shiva get appeased by the worship very early.
द्वादशज्योतिर्लिङ्गानि
सौराष्ट्रे सोमनाथं च श्रीशैले मल्लिकार्जुनम् । उज्जयिन्यां महाकालं ॐकारममलेश्वरम् ॥१॥
परल्यां वैद्यनाथं च डाकिन्यां भीमाशंकरम् । सेतुबंधे तु रामेशं नागेशं दारुकावने ॥२॥
वाराणस्यां तु विश्वेशं त्र्यंबकं गौतमीतटे । हिमालये तु केदारं घुश्मेशं च शिवालये ॥३॥
एतानि ज्योतिर्लिङ्गानि सायं प्रातः पठेन्नरः । सप्तजन्मकृतं पापं स्मरणेन विनश्यति ॥४॥
