Heart Shaped Beetroot Cookies
Instead of adding any artificial dye in my recipes I often use natural color of the vegetables and fruits, as I’am very skeptic about these artificial coloring agents available in the market. On the occasion of Valentine day my maverick mind thought to do something delightful and hence this recipe came out under my experimental cooking. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.
Heart Shaped Beetroot Cookies
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
- 1/2 cup Custard Powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 4 tbsp Beetroot juice
- 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 tbsp Clarified butter (Ghee)
- 1 tbsp Gems
- Take a bowl and add 2 tbsp of clarified butter into it.
- Add 4 tbsp of powdered sugar in the same bowl.
- Mix them well so that it can turn creamy.
- Sieve all purpose flour, custard powder and baking powder and shift them in the same container.
- Sprinkle vanilla essence.
- At the same time peel off the chopped beet root and grind them, with the help of cotton cloth extract its juice as shown in the image.
- Add beetroot juice in the same bowl (Note: if you will avoid baking powder or baking soda then the texture will be more bright but here I’ve added baking powder hence after getting baked It got little brownish in color).
- Mix them well and prepare a dough, if required add more flour into it or you can use cold milk if required.
- With the help of rolling pin and rolling board prepare a flatbread and shape them with cookie cutter.
- Design them as per your choice, you can either embed gems over the cookies.
- In a microwave plate place a butter paper and under convection 180 degree bake it for 15 minutes, keep checking in between just to avoid burning of the cookies as it depends on the thickness.
- When it gets cooked let them cool down.
- Sprinkle some powdered sugar and it is ready to be served or packed.
