Vrat / Falahari cheela | Non grain, Gluten free snacks for Fasting

Today I am going to share a very unique fasting snack, that is gluten-free and nongrain, one can try this recipe for a diet plan for a weight loss journey. Falahari cheela is a traditional Indian fasting recipe that is not only quick and easy to make but also a gluten-free cheela recipe. Chestnut flour, also known as singhade ka atta, is commonly used by the majority of people in India during fasting days. This combination here is really wonderful as all the ingredients like Samak rice (Barnyard millet is a gluten-free, fiber-rich, and nutritious seeds, which is tiny, round, cream-colored nongrain), sago, peanuts, etc, combined together to form a healthy meal during the fasting days. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this snack.

 

Vrat / Falahari cheela | Non grain, Gluten free snacks for Fasting

  • ⅓ Cup Barnyard millet (Samak rice)
  • 1 tbsp Sago
  • 1 tbsp Peanut
  • 1 tbsp Clarified butter (For searing the pancake )
  • ½ Cup Curd
  • ¼ tsp Rock salt
  • ⅓ Cup Chestnut flour
  • 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 Piece Boiled potatoes
  1. In a grinder jar add samak rice, sago, peanuts, and chestnut flour, take a whirl around and form a powder texture of the ingredients.



  2. Add curd, potatoes & water to form a batter. Add rock salt to taste.



  3. Transfer the batter to a bowl, add chopped coriander leaves and mix it well, the batter is ready.



  4. Grease the griddle, place the batter, cover and cook it unless golden.



  5. Serve it with vrat ki chutney.
