Lemon Rice Recipe
Lemon rice is the delicacy of South Indian cuisine, This recipe is very commonly distributed in temples and can be found in the menu of restaurants. One can cook this recipe with leftover rice as well as freshly cooked rice, it is very delicious and basically do not require any embellishment, let’s learn step by step process to cook lemon rice recipe.
Lemon Rice Recipe
- 1 cup Cooked Rice
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp Peanuts
- 2 tbsp Cashewnuts
- 1 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
- 1 tbsp Curry Leaves
- 1 tsp Split Black Gram (Urad Dal)
- 1 tsp Split Bengal Gram (Chana Dal)
- 1 tbsp Chopped Green chili
- 2 tbsp Chopped Onion
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbsp Salt (As per your Taste)
- Heat oil in a pan and roast peanuts and cashew nuts.
- In the same pan prepare tampering by adding black mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves and let it tamper for some times.
- In the same tampering add chopped green chilies and chopped onion and let it cook unless its rawness get removed.
- Stir fry it for sometimes as shown in the image.
- Add cooked rice, turmeric powder, salt and mix it well.
- Add roasted peanuts and cashew nuts and mix it well.
- Add lemon juice and turn off the flame.
- Serve it with your favorite curry or chutney, it can even be served barely without any chutney or curry as it is sumptuous in itself.
