Sripad Vallabhacharya flourished under the patronage of the Vijayanagara King Sri Krishnadevarya in the late 15th century, Karnataka State and created many other literary pieces.
It is evident from the ashtakam that the devotee is fascinated to have a look at not only the beautiful divine sweet form (sarvanga sundara rupam) of Lord Krishna but also the very existence of the Lord by way of His moves, plays, pastimes, etc
The devotional hymn “Madhurashtakam” of Sri Vallabhacarya was created to lead the devotee in Pustimarga (पुस्टिमार्ग), the Path of Grace, which involves a constant love-filled devotion to Krishna by various acts of homage, such as singing (kirtan कीर्तन), commemorating (smarana स्मरन), visualize mentally and descry (Darshana दर्शन) a delightful image of the deity upon the singing of the Madhurastakam, and offering of services (save सेवा). These acts enable the devotee to enter into the divine presence of Sri Krishna and to experience the Lord’s real essence (svarupa स्वरुप) which are in fact, in a nutshell, laid down by the Madhurashtakam. Hence, Madhurashtakam plays an instrumental role in the realisation of the Lord.
Those who are suffering from quarrels, turbulence, choppiness etc at home or at the workplace should read this or listen to this stotram to get rid of all the disasters happening all around them. It also adds happiness in the lives of husband and wife, so if there is the quarrel between husband and wife and they always face this condition on nitwit things then they should also read or listen to this stotram for getting their problems resolved.
