Radish (Mooli) Leaves Chana Lentil Recipe

Radish leaves are little pungent in taste, but its health benefits are almost similar like spinach, as it always keeps the illness at bay, it contains minerals like calcium, iron, phosphorous, folic acid, vitamin C etc, it contains dietary fibers and hence gives comfort from bloating and digestive diseases. So I thought to prepare a recipe which can be packed with all the benefit of this leaf and lentils so I prepared radish leaves and chana lentils recipe. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Radish (Mooli) Leaves Chana Lentil Recipe

  • 1 Bunch Radish leaves
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Chopped Green chili
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup Soaked chana lentils
  • 1 tbsp Clarified butter (Ghee)
  1. Soak radish leaves in water with a tsp of apple cider vinegar, so that any pesticide content can be discarded easily.
  2. Either pressure cook lentils and radish leaves together with 4 whistles or after frying radish leaves pressure cook it with 2 whistle.
  3. Heat clarified butter in a pan and add cumin seeds, let it splutter.
  4. Add asafoetida, chopped onion and chopped green chili.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes in the pan and cook them together unless they turns soft.
  6. Add coriander leaves and cook them together.
  7. Add chopped radish leaves and cook them together for some time.
  8. Add these ingredients in the cooker and cook them together with lentils with 2 whistle.
  9. Serve it with your favorite dishes.
