Mixed vegetable Vada (Barra) Recipe

Colorful vegetables and fruits not only looks adorable but also nutritious. This recipe is little bit similar to Urad vada but the difference is just choices of vegetables and spices. In Jharkhand (India) this recipe is known as Barra. Let’s learn how to cook mixed vegetable Vada recipe.

Mixed vegetable Vada (Barra) Recipe

  • 1 cup overnight soaked Urad lentils
  • 2 tbsp Celery (Ajwain)
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Grated Radish
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Spinach
  • 2 tbsp Finely Chopped Onion
  • 2 tbsp Finely Chopped Orange Capsicum
  • 1 tbsp Finely Chopped Spring Onion
  • 1 tbsp Finely Chopped Green Chili
  • 1 tbsp Curry Powder
  • 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  1. Take all the chopped vegetables as shown in the image.
  2. Drain the water from urad (White split lentils) and keep it aside.
  3. Take the spices as shown in the image.
  4. Grind urad (White split lentils) dal and mix all the spices and vegetables in the same bowl.
  5. Mix the ingredients in a bowl and keep it aside for 15 minutes, form any desired shapes as shown in the image.
  6. Turn it golden brown as shown in the image.
  7. Remove it on kitchen towel.
  8. Serve it with any sauce or chutney of your choice.
