Pyaj (Onion Fritters) Pakoda/Bhajiya Recipe

Pyaj pakoda with tea is very sumptuous tea time snacks during rainy season. It is easy and yummy recipe, one who is health conscious can use appam tray for non fried pakoda and baking them is another option. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare these sumptuous delight.

Pyaj (Onion) Pakoda/Bhajiya Recipe

  • 1 cup Chopped Onion
  • 1/2 cup Soaked Split Bangal Gram
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Finely Chopped Green Chili
  • 2 tbsp Rice Flour
  • 2 tbsp Gram Flour
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  1. In a grinding jar put soaked bangal gram. garlic cloves, ginger and take a whirl around.
  2. Take chopped onion as shown in the image.
  3. Take all the ingredients in the bowl as shown in the image.
  4. Mix them all together and let them rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and fry pakoda. you can even bake them at 180 degree centigrade for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove them from oil and let it put on kitchen towel.
  7. Serve them with tea.
