Homemade Samosa Recipe
Samosa is very common street food of India, but its history is really very interesting as this snack travel from several countries and finally reached to India. So few of us may get perplexed after knowing that this recipe traveled here from all the way to Central Asia. But now it has a great grip in our culture, so lets learn how to cook this recipe.
Samosa Recipe
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
- 1 tbsp Celery (Ajwain)
- 1 tbsp Kalonji or Mangrail, Black Caraway, Nigella,
- 1 Pinch Baking Powder
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 3 Piece Boiled and Mashed Potatos
- 1 cup Chopped Onion
- 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1 Piece Chopped Tomatoes
- 2 tbsp Chopped Green chili
- 1 cup Peanuts
- 1/2 cup Cashewnuts
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp Mustard Powder
- 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
- 1 tbsp Garam Masala
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Curry Powder
- 1 tbsp Mixed Masala
- Take a deep pot and add all purpose flour, celery, kalonji, salt, baking powder and 2 tbsp vegetable oil.
- Mix it for 5 minutes so that dough can be fluffy.
- Pour water slowly and make a dough as shown in the image.
- With thin wet cotton cloth cover the dough and put it aside for 10 to 20 minutes.
- Boil potatoes for this fillings and take a cup of pea nuts and cashew-nuts.
- Take the chopped ingredients as shown in the image.
- Take all the spices as shown in the image.
- Heat a pan with 2 tbsp of vegetable oil and add roughly chopped onion, when onion turns golden brown then add other ingredients and cook it for some times and also add all spices.
- Add coriander leaves and let it cool down, as fillings are ready.
- Take the dough and divide it into pieces as shown in the image.
- With the help of rolling board and rolling pin and form the shape and divide it in equal halves.
- Apply water on every edges of half and fold it as shown in the image.
- Add fillings and one cashew nut as shown in the image.
- Cover it and in the same way craft all samosas.
- Heat 2 Cups of vegetable oil and fry samosa.
- Serve it with your favourite sauce,mayonnaise or channa chola .
