Tawa Naan Recipe
Naan is a kind of flatbread which is prepared with fermented dough of all purpose flour. In this recipe I’ve shun the usage of yeast and prepared it using baking powder, fresh curd and all purpose flour with the help of tawa. One can easily prepare this recipe without tandoor/oven at home. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.
Tawa Naan Recipe
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
- 3 tbsp Curd
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tbsp kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)
- 1 tbsp Celery Seeds (Ajwain)
- 1 tsp Kalonji or Mangrail, Black Caraway, Nigella,
- 1 tsp Salt (As per your taste)
- Take all purpose flour and add curd along with baking soda, salt and water to prepare a dough. cover it with wet cloth or kitchen towel and let it rest for 1 hour.
- Take out separate bolls out of the dough and prepare flat bread with the help of rolling pin and rolling board. Apply ajwain, kasoori methi and mangrail above the flat bread and apply water on the bottom of the bread and put it on tawa.
- When bubbles start to form on the front side of naan it means we have to turn tawa to toast it from another side as shown in the image.
- It should look golden brown from the front side as shown in the image.
- Apply butter if you want otherwise simply serve it with any curry recipe.
