Aloo Chop Recipe

Aloo Chop is very famous recipe of eastern part of India, people enjoy this recipe with puffed rice as evening snack, in Bihar and Bangal (India) this recipe is a famous street food people enjoy aloo chop with flattened rice, puffed rice and as a side dish with rice-lentils. Basically it is a kind of mashed potato dumpling with spices in it and covered with thin layer of gram flour batter. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare aloo chop recipe.

Ingredients

For Potato Mixture

  • 3 Pieces Boiled and Mashed Potatos
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Green chili
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Finely Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 3 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 tsp kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Mirch
  • 1 tsp Chat Masala
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Curry Masala Powder
  • 1 cup Mustard Oil For Shallow frying

For outer covering

  • 4 tbsp Gram Flour ( Besan)
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Degi Mirch / Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Mixed Curry Masala
  • 1 tsp Oil

Instructions

  • Take gram flour and add all the ingredients as shown in the image.
  • Add water and prepare the batter in the same consistency as shown in the image.
  • Take mashed potatoes and add all the ingredients like chopped Green chili,Salt, coriander leaves, chopped onion,kasoori methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves), black pepper powder, roasted cumin powder, kashmiri mirch, chat masala, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, curry masala powder.
  • Prepare the shapes as shown in the image.
  • Deep the dumplings in the batter to cover it.
  • Shallow fry them as shown in the image.
  • Remove them from oil and aloo chop is ready to be served.
