Aloo Parwal (Potato Pointed Gourd) Curry Recipe

Aloo parwal curry is very common recipe of Indian kitchen, It is very delicious and also very easy to cook, one can use boiled potatoes, and concoction of spices varies from one to another hand it is being cooked. I’m sharing very easy method of cooking this recipe which students and working people can cook by themselves.

Aloo Parwal (Potato Pointed Gourd) Curry Recipe

  • 1 cup sliced and siltted Pointed Gourd
  • 1/2 cup Sliced Potatoes
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 5 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Pieces Green Chili
  • 1 Piece Onion (For grinding ingredients)
  • 1 Piece Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Curry Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan and sear pointed gourd and potatoes.
  2. Make the paste of tomato, onion, ginger, garlic, green chili.
  3. When rawness of vegetables disappears then remove it from the flame.
  4. In the same pan add cumin seeds and let it splutter, and oil and sear chopped onion.
  5. Add spices and grind ingredients in the same pan.
  6. Let the spices cook for sometime.
  7. Add roasted vegetables and mix it well.
  8. Add half a cup of water and cook it for 10 minutes.
  9. Garnish it with coriander leaves and the recipe is ready to be served.
