Argala Stotram | In Sanskrit, Hindi and English meaning

 

                                                                         ॥ अथार्गलास्तोत्रम् ॥

ॐ अस्य श्रीअर्गलास्तोत्रमन्त्रस्य विष्णुर्ऋषिः,अनुष्टुप् छन्दः, श्रीमहालक्ष्मीर्देवता, श्रीजगदम्बाप्रीतयेसप्तशतीपाठाङ्गत्वेन जपे विनियोगः॥

                                                                              ॐ नमश्‍चण्डिकायै॥

मार्कण्डेय उवाच ॐ जयन्ती मङ्गला काली भद्रकाली कपालिनी। दुर्गा क्षमा शिवा धात्री स्वाहा स्वधा नमोऽस्तु ते॥1॥

जय त्वं देवि चामुण्डे जय भूतार्तिहारिणि। जय सर्वगते देवि कालरात्रि नमोऽस्तु ते॥2॥

मधुकैटभविद्राविविधातृवरदे नमः। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥3॥

महिषासुरनिर्णाशि भक्तानां सुखदे नमः। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥4॥

रक्तबीजवधे देवि चण्डमुण्डविनाशिनि। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥5॥

शुम्भस्यैव निशुम्भस्य धूम्राक्षस्य च मर्दिनि। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥6॥

वन्दिताङ्‌घ्रियुगे देवि सर्वसौभाग्यदायिनि। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥7॥

अचिन्त्यरुपचरिते सर्वशत्रुविनाशिनि। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥8॥

नतेभ्यः सर्वदा भक्त्या चण्डिके दुरितापहे। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥9॥

स्तुवद्‌भ्यो भक्तिपूर्वं त्वां चण्डिके व्याधिनाशिनि। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥10॥

चण्डिके सततं ये त्वामर्चयन्तीह भक्तितः। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥11॥

देहि सौभाग्यमारोग्यं देहि मे परमं सुखम्। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥12॥

विधेहि द्विषतां नाशं विधेहि बलमुच्चकैः। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥13॥

विधेहि देवि कल्याणं विधेहि परमां श्रियम्। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥14॥

सुरासुरशिरोरत्ननिघृष्टचरणेऽम्बिके। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥15॥

विद्यावन्तं यशस्वन्तं लक्ष्मीवन्तं जनं कुरु। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥16॥

प्रचण्डदैत्यदर्पघ्ने चण्डिके प्रणताय मे। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥17॥

चतुर्भुजे चतुर्वक्त्रसंस्तुते परमेश्‍वरि। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥18॥

कृष्णेन संस्तुते देवि शश्‍वद्भक्त्या सदाम्बिके। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥19॥

हिमाचलसुतानाथसंस्तुते परमेश्‍वरि। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥20॥

इन्द्राणीपतिसद्भावपूजिते परमेश्‍वरि। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥21॥

देवि प्रचण्डदोर्दण्डदैत्यदर्पविनाशिनि। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥22॥

देवि भक्तजनोद्दामदत्तानन्दोदयेऽम्बिके। रुपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि॥23॥

पत्नीं मनोरमां देहि मनोवृत्तानुसारिणीम्। तारिणीं दुर्गसंसारसागरस्य कुलोद्भवाम्॥24॥

इदं स्तोत्रं पठित्वा तु महास्तोत्रं पठेन्नरः। स तु सप्तशतीसंख्यावरमाप्नोति सम्पदाम्॥25॥

                               ॥ इति देव्या अर्गलास्तोत्रं सम्पूर्णम् ॥

Meaning in Hindi:

ॐ चंडिका देवी को नमस्कार है। मार्कण्डेय जी कहते हैं – जयन्ती, मंगला, काली, भद्रकाली, कपालिनी, दुर्गा, क्षमा, शिवा, धात्री, स्वाहा और स्वधा – इन नामों से प्रसिद्ध जगदम्बिके! तुम्हें मेरा नमस्कार हो।

देवी चामुण्डे ! तुम्हारी जय हो। सम्पूर्ण प्राणियों की पीड़ा हरने वाली देवी! तुम्हारी जय हो। सब में व्याप्त रहने वाली देवी! तुम्हारी जय हो। कालरात्रि! तुम्हें नमस्कार हो।।

 मधु और कैटभ को मारने वाली तथा ब्रह्माजी को वरदान देने वाली देवी ! तुम्हे नमस्कार है। तुम मुझे रूप (आत्मस्वरूप का ज्ञान) दो, जय (मोह पर विजय) दो, यश (मोह-विजय और ज्ञान-प्राप्तिरूप यश) दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो।

महिषासुर का नाश करने वाली तथा भक्तों को सुख देने वाली देवी! तुम्हें नमस्कार है। तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

रक्तबीज का वध और चण्ड-मुण्ड का विनाश करने वाली देवी! तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

शुम्भ और निशुम्भ तथा धूम्रलोचन का मर्दन करने वाली देवी ! तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

सबके द्वारा वन्दित युगल चरणों वाली तथा सम्पूर्ण सौभग्य प्रदान करने वाली देवी! तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

 देवी ! तुम्हारे रूप और चरित्र अचिन्त्य हैं। तुम समस्त शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाली हो। तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

पापों को दूर करने वाली चण्डिके! जो भक्तिपूर्वक तुम्हारे चरणों में सर्वदा (हमेशा) मस्तक झुकाते हैं, उन्हें रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।।

रोगों का नाश करने वाली चण्डिके! जो भक्तिपूर्वक तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं, उन्हें तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

चण्डिके ! इस संसार में जो भक्तिपूर्वक तुम्हारी पूजा करते हैं उन्हें रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

मुझे सौभाग्य और आरोग्य (स्वास्थ्य) दो। परम सुख दो, रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो।

जो मुहसे द्वेष करते हों, उनका नाश और मेरे बल की वृद्धि करो। रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

देवी ! मेरा कल्याण करो। मुझे उत्तम संपत्ति प्रदान करो। रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो।

अम्बिके! देवता और असुर दोनों ही अपने माथे के मुकुट की मणियों को तुम्हारे चरणों पर घिसते हैं। तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

तुम अपने भक्तजन को विद्वान, यशस्वी, और लक्ष्मीवान बनाओ तथा रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

प्रचंड दैत्यों के दर्प का दलन करने वाली चण्डिके ! मुझ शरणागत को रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

चतुर्भुज ब्रह्मा जी के द्वारा प्रशंसित चार भुजाधारिणी परमेश्वरि! तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

 देवी अम्बिके ! भगवान् विष्णु नित्य-निरंतर भक्तिपूर्वक तुम्हारी स्तुति करते रहते हैं। तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।।

हिमालय-कन्या पार्वती के पति महादेवजी के द्वारा होने वाली परमेश्वरि! तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

शचीपति इंद्र के द्वारा सद्भाव से पूजित होने वाल परमेश्वरि! तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो

प्रचंड भुजदण्डों वाले दैत्यों का घमंड चूर करने वाली देवी ! तुम रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो

देवी अम्बिके ! तुम अपने भक्तजनों को सदा असीम आनंद प्रदान करती हो। मुझे रूप दो, जय दो, यश दो और काम-क्रोध आदि शत्रुओं का नाश करो ।

मन की इच्छा के अनुसार चलने वाली मनोहर पत्नी प्रदान करो, जो दुर्गम संसार से तारने वाली तथा उत्तम कुल में जन्मी हो।

जो मनुष्य इस स्तोत्र का पाठ करके सप्तशती रूपी महास्तोत्र का पाठ करता है, वह सप्तशती की जप-संख्या से मिलने वाले श्रेष्ठ फल को प्राप्त होता है और साथ ही वह प्रचुर संपत्ति भी प्राप्त कर लेता है।

Salutation to Chamunda Devi! Sage Markendya spoke! Salutation to Mangla Kali, bhadra kali kapalini, Durga chama shiva dhatri, swaha, swadha salutation to you who is known by these names.

Victory to you, O devi Chamundi, victory to you who are the remover of worldly afflictions and sorrows. Victory to you O devi, who are present in all beings; Salutations to you, O devi Kalaratri (a form of devi Durga, literally means the dark night).

Salutations to Jayanti (who is ever-victorious), Mangala (who is the bestower of auspiciousness), Kali (who is beyond kala or time), Bhadrakali (who is the controller of life and death, being beyond kala or time), Kapalini (who wear a garland of skulls). Salutations to Durga (who is Durgati-nashini), Shiva (who is ever-auspicious and one with Shiva as his consort), kshama (who is an embodiment of forbearance), dhatri (who is the supporter of all beings), swaha (who is the final receiver of the sacrificial oblations to gods) and swadha (who is the final receiver of the sacrificial oblations to manes); Salutations to you.

Having read this stotra (i.e. the argala stotra), one should then read the great stotra (i.e. the core Durga saptashati), this stotra (i.e. argala stotra) is equally revered like the saptashati; by reading this with devotion, one obtains difficult to obtain boons.
