Beetroot Pua Recipe

Giving a twist to pua recipe I thought to add some delight into it, hence added beetroot juice for nice pink color which enhanced the texture of this sweet dish. Let’s learn how I prepared this variance.

Beetroot Pua Recipe

For pua

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 4 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Funnel Seeds
  • 1 cup Refined oil (For frying)
  • 4 tbsp Beetroot juice

For sugar syrup

  • 1/2 cup Sugar (For sugar syrup )
  • 1 tbsp Rose Water
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1 tsp Milk
  • 1 cup Water
  1. Take all purpose flour and add milk into it mix it well then add beetroot juice keep whisking them, its consistency should be the same as shown in the image. let it rest for half an hour. (Add milk and juice in the batches as per the requirement)
  2. After half an hour add funnel seeds and mix them well. ( funnel seeds are optional one can add dry fruits also)
  3. Heat oil in a pan and with the help of a spoon prepare pua and fry them.
  4. Prepare sugar syrup by adding one cup water and half a cup of sugar, add a tbsp of milk and discard contaminated particles from the syrup. Sprinkle rose water and cardamom powder into the syrup and turn off the flame, add fried pua in the sugar syrup and the recipe is ready to be served.
