Black lentils Khichdi Recipe
Black lentils khichdi is very common in northern part of India specially in Uttar pradesh, Delhi and Bihar. It is very simple and quick recipe and doesn’t require any lavish ingredients. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.
Black lentils Khichdi Recipe
- 1/2 cup Rice
- 1/2 cup Black lentils
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Chopped orange chili or green chili
- 1 tbsp Clarified butter (Ghee)
- 1 tbsp Chopped Tomato
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Lentils masala
- 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
- Soak black lentils and rice together for 12 hours.
- After 12 hours wash the ingredients and strain it.
- In a cooker add cumin seeds and chopped orange chili.
- Add clarified butter in it.
- Add sliced and chopped tomatoes and stir fry them.
- Add rice and lentils in the pan and and stir fry them together.
- Add turmeric and red chili powder and mi them well.
- Add lentils masala powder and mix them well.
- Add one and half cup of water in the cooker and sprinkle coriander leaves.
- After 2 whistle the recipe is ready to be served with raita, papad, chokha etc.
