Ganth Gobi Curry | गांठ गोभी | Kohlrabi

Ganth gobi which is known as Kohlrabi in English, it is also known as lump cabbage. It consists of a huge array of antioxidants hence reduces the risk of diabetes, metabolic disease, heart disease etc. As it contains both soluble and insoluble fibres which help to maintain healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels, it also a good source of vitamin B6 and Vitamin C which is important for many functions, including protein metabolism, red blood cell development, and immune function.

Today I am cooking a very delicious recipe with this vegetable, this recipe can go along with rice to appease your apatite. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Ganth Gobi Curry | गांठ गोभी | Kohlrabi

  • 4 Pieces Ganth Gobi / Kohlrabi
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Sabji masala powder
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 Slice Lemon
  • 1 Piece Tomato
  • 1 Piece Green chilli
  • 1 Piece Cardamom
  • 2 Piece Black peppercorn
  • 2 tbsp Mustard oil
  1. Take ganth gobi in the water container after washing it.



  2. Peel off the outer cover of the kohlrabi and place them in the container full of water.



  3. Cut them into small pieces.



  4. Place them into a container.



  5. Add 1 tsp of salt and turmeric powder into the container.



  6. Add Red chilli powder into it.



  7. Mix them well.



  8. In a cooker add 2 tbsp of mustard oil.



  9. In a grinding jar add tomato, chilli, cardamom, black peppercorn in a grinding jar.



  10. Grind them.



  11. In a pressure cooker add 2 tbsp mustard oil.



  12. Add grind ingredients and fry them unless oil separates from the spices.



  13. Add spices like sabji masala, turmeric powder and salt into it.



  14. Add ginger and garlic paste into the cooker and fry them all together.



  15. Fry them all.



  16. Add marinated kohlrabi in the cooker and fry them.



  17. Keep frying them all together.



  18. Add water as per your choice, if you want gravy then add more water otherwise add less water.



  19. Pressure cook it with 2 whistles and the recipe is ready.



  20. The recipe is ready to be served.
