Chuda fry or flattened rice mixture is a popular snack of India that is commonly enjoyed during teatime in the evening. It is quick and easy to prepare, with various versions that I will share later on. There is a belief that eating chuda fry on Saturdays can ward off planetary troubles. Let’s discover how to make this recipe. This flattened rice mixture can even be preserved for more than a month in an airtight container and can be enjoyed. Let’s learn this recipe.

Healthy Evening Snacks | Chuda Fry Recipe | Flattened Rice Mixture

  • 1 Cup Super thin flattened rice (You can even use normal flattened rice, but super thin flattened rice will taste better.)
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper powder
  • ¼ tsp Rock salt (Or as per the taste )
  • 1 Strand Curry leaves
  • 1 Piece Slit green chili
  • ½ tsp Oil (Any oil of your choice )
  1. In a wok or a pan add ½ tsp of oil and heat it.



  2. Add ¼ cup of cashew nuts and roast it unless crispy and golden,



  3. Remove it from the pan and keep it aside.



  4. In the same pan add curry leaves and slit green chili and let it turn crispy.



  5. Add flattened rice and let it turn crispy and remove its rawness, Then add roasted cashew nuts, salt and black pepper powder.



  6. Serve it or you can preserve it for more than a month and you can enjoy it as a evening snack or a trail mix.
