Homemade Ginger & Garlic Paste

Ginger and garlic paste is the taste enhancer of any curry or side dishes, If we have homemade version for the same then it is more delightful, as those which is available in the market carry pungent smells of additives, I personally don’t like the smells its carries hence I decided to try this at home, but how to preserve this paste? Is there any ingredietns which can easlily preserve it without actually changing the taste and flavour of this paste? So I decided to give it a try and yeah it actually worked! I added some secret ingredients and preserved it under refrigeration for more than a month or two or unless it got finished. Let’s learn how to prepare this recipe at home.

Homemade Ginger & Garlic Paste

  • 1 Cup Ginger
  • 1 Cup Garlic
  • 1/2 Slice Lemon (It eradicates the pungent smell )
  • 1 tbsp Mustard oil (It acts as a preservative)
  1. Peel off ginger.



  2. Remove the cover of garlic.



  3. Transfer both the ingredients in a grinding jar.



  4. Squeeze lemon juice into it.



  5. Add 1 tbsp of mustard oil into it.



  6. Grind them into a smooth paste.



  7. Preserve in under refrigeration for more than a month or two on unless it gets finished.
