I still remembered how I was introduced to this recipe, after marriage! I heard about a curry named Dubki, it was perplexing! When I eat for the first time, then I realized the authentic masala mix is a little familiar to me. Then I thought to give it a try and it came out amazing, I am glad to share the same recipe with all of you!

‘Dubki’is an authentic dish from an ancient Indian kitchen, generally served with rice or chapatis. It is still being cooked in some of the eastern and northern parts of India. It is definitely easy to prepare, easily digestive and it is high in nutritional value. Let’s learn how to cook Dubki.

Urad dal Preparation for curry

  • ¼ Cup White lentils (Urad dal)
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Salt (As per the taste )
  • ½ tsp Sabji masala powder
  • ½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 Inch Of Ginger

Spice Preparation

  • 1 Inch Of Ginger
  • 9 Pieces Garlic pods
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp Coriander seeds
  • 2 Pieces Tomatoes
  • 2 Pieces Green chillies
  • ¼ tsp Mango powder

Curry Preparation

  • 1 tsp Panchphoran (Cumin seeds, Brown Mustard seeds, Fenugreek seeds, Nigella and Fennel seeds)
  • 1 Piece Bay leaf
  • ¼ tsp Asafoetida
  • 1 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 2 Cup Water

For Garnishing

  • 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • ½ Slice Lemon juice
