Jackfruit curry in a pressure cooker

Jackfruit is very common fruit, and it can be eaten both raw and ripen, in India people cook several varieties of recipes using this fruit and even the seeds of this fruits are used for cooking delicious curries, I have already posted about jackfruit seeds curry in my previous post. 

 

Jackfruit Curry In A Pressure Cooker

  • 1 Cup Jackfruit
  • 1 tbsp Raw hot spices (Star anise, black peppercorn, cinnamon stick, black and green cardamom, cloves)
  • 1 Cup Chopped two medium sized onion
  • 1 tsp Chopped green chillies
  • 2 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 1 tbsp Ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt (As per your taste)
  • 1 tbsp Meat masala powder
  1. In a pressure cooker add all the raw spices and let it get roasted unless aroma starts emitting.



  2. Add 2 tbsp of mustard oil in the cooker.



  3. Add chopped onion in the cooker.



  4. Add ginger and garlic paste.



  5. Add turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt in the cooker,



  6. Mix them well.



  7. Add coriander leaves into the cooker.



  8. Add half a cup of water and pressure cook it with three whistle.



  9. After three whistle the spices will look like this.



  10. Add boiled jackfruits in the cooker.



  11. Add meat masala powder.



  12. Add water if required and pressure cook it with two whistle.



  13. After two whistle check the thickness of gravy.



  14. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot with boiled rice or chapatis.
