Litti Chokha Recipe (Microwave)

Litti chokha is the traditional recipe of Bihar (India), but due to its amazing taste and healthy virtue it is a very famous street food delicacy of Indian subcontinent. I have tried a very simple method using a microwave oven, even chokha I prepared is non fried. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare litti chokha recipe.

Litti Chokha Recipe

For Litti

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 cup Roasted Gram Flour (Sattu)
  • 1 tbsp Achar ka Masala (Pickle spices)
  • 1 tsp Celery Seeds (Ajwain)
  • 1 tsp Kalonji or Mangrail, Black Caraway, Nigella,
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Green chili
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Garlic
  • 1 tsp Salt (As per your taste )
  • 3 tbsp Water
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 Cup Clarified Butter (Ghee)

For Chokha

  • 4 Medium Size Boiled and pilled-off Potatoes
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 tsp Chopped Green chili
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Mustard Oil
  1. Take wheat flour and prepare dough in the same consistency as we prepare for flatbread.
  2. Take roasted gram flour and mix chopped onion, garlic, coriander leaves, achar masala, ajwain, mangrail, salt, green chili and water to prepare a batter of filling.
  3. Divide dough into small bolls.
  4. Put the fillings to prepare litti.
  5. Roll it and prepare the shapes as shown in the image.
  6. Put inside the microwave oven under convection at 180 degree for 35 minutes.
  7. Put it inside the clarified butter as shown in the image.
  8. Litti is ready to be served.
  9. Take boiled and peeled off potatoes and mash them.
  10. Add chopped green chili, chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves, salt and mustard oil.
  11. Mix it and chokha is ready to be served with litti and enjoy it.
