Malai Kofta Recipe

I have added a twist to this recipe by removing cornflour or gram flour from kofta, just to get its pure flavor, and shallow frying or searing it can make it healthy. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Malai Kofta Recipe

  • 1/2 Cup Grated Paneer
  • 3 tbsp Grated boil potato
  • 1 tsp Salt (As per your taste)
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)
  • 2 tbsp Dry fruits
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Piece Bay leaf
  • 4 Corn Black pepper seeds
  • 1 Piece Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 tsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 piece Black cardamom
  • 1 piece Green Cardamom
  • 3 Pieces Cloves
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Ginger and garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Tomato
  • 2 tbsp Cashew nuts
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri mirch powder
  • 1 tbsp Corianer powder
  • 1 tbsp Sabji masala powder
  1. Heat a pan and add all the dry spices into it.
  2. Add oil in the pan and let it splutter.
  3. Add ginger, garlic and chopped tomato.
  4. Add cashew nuts into it.
  5. Add chopped onion in the pan and let it turn translucent.
  6. Add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, kashmiri mirch powder and sabji masala powder.
  7. Add water and let it cook for sometime.
  8. When it gets cooked and extra water disappear then turn off the flame and let it cool down.
  9. Take grated paneer and boiled potato, add salt, black pepper powder, kasoor methi, ginger and garlic paste.
  10. Prepare dumpling and fill dry fruits into it.
  11. Heat a griddle and add 2 tbsp of oil into it. and sear the kofta.
  12. We will grind the ingredients in the pan which we left for cooling down.
  13. In the pan add 1 tsp of oil and put the grind ingredients as shown in the image.
  14. Add some water if required, then switch off the flame add kofta.
  15. Serve it hot with any main course dishes.
