Matar ka paratha | Green pea paratha |Stuffed paratha

When to talk of food of the winter season, a few recipes always strike our mind, the one is parathas and the other is gajar ka halwa. Green pea stuffed flatbread is a very healthy and delicious option, Paratha is Indian flatbread which is made with whole wheat flour and stuffed with the ingredients it is named with, like matar ka parata is stuffed with green peas, lentils parathas, vegetable parathas, aloo ka paratha, etc, there are several variances, Sweet peas mixed with spices and then stuffed inside the flatbread always reminds me of chilli winter days back home. Mom would always make rice kheer with these parathas, and I would happily gulp all down in a few minutes. So remembering my mother and my home as I am very far away from my home these days, trying my hand on these parathas, along with gur wali kheer.

Matar ka paratha | Green pea paratha | Stuffed paratha

  • 2 Cup Wheat flour
  • 2 Cup Green pea
  • 2 tbsp Oil (For kneading the dough and for filling preparation and for paratha preparation)
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Chopped onion
  • ½ tsp Chopped green chilli
  • ¼ tsp Asafoetida
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • ½ tsp Salt

Dough Preparation

  1. Take 2 cup of wheat flour in a bowl.



  2. Add ½ tsp of oil, ½ tsp of salt and mix it to make a binding consistency.



  3. Add water gradually and make a dough similar to chapati dough.



  4. Apply ½ tsp of oil and apply it thoroughly on the dough and cover it and let it rest for 30 minutes.



  5. Take two cups of green peas and grind them to form a coarse mixture.



  6. Add ½ tsp of oil in a pan, splutter ½ tsp of cumin seeds, add peas mixture & spices like ½ tsp of turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt to taste, mix and fry.



  7. Make balls as shown.



  8. Make balls of wheat dough.



  9. Make boul share with dough and place the filling, roll it to form a flatbread.



  10. Prepare the flatbread and sear it from both sides.
