Okra Yogurt Curry | Dahi Bhindi Curry
Okra yogurt curry is the sauteed okra in a smooth, creamy, lightly spiced and tangy gravy. Which is easy to make and can be served with rice or chapatis or any flatbreads. I have used home grown tomatos. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.
Okra Yogurt Curry | Dahi Bhindi Curry
- 1 Cup Curd
- 1 tbsp Mustard oil
- 1 Cup Okra
- 1 tsp Panch phoran (It includes fenugreek seeds, onion seeds, fennel seeds, celery seeds and mustard seeds.)
- 1 Pinch Asafoetida
- 1 Piece Medium-sized chopped onion
- 1 tsp Chopped green chillies
- 2 Piece Small-sized chopped tomato
- 1 tsp Ginger and garlic paste
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Salt (As per the taste )
- 1 tbsp Sabji masala powder
- 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
Add mustard oil in the wok.
Add slit okra into the wok and fry them unless it trn golden brown, put it aside.
In the same wok add panch phoran.
Let it splutter and add a pinch of asafoetida.
Add chopped onion into the wok and fry unless it turns translucent.
Add chopped green chilli and chopped tomatoes into the wok.
Add ginger and garlic paste into the wok.
fry them well and add water.
Add all the spices into it and mix them well.
Cover the lid and cook it for few minutes.
Meanwhile, whisk the curd.
Add curd into the wok and mix it well.
On the low flame cook it.
Add okra into the wok.
Cover the lid and cook it for some time.
Add chopped coriander leaves into it.
Serve it hot with boiled rice.
