Palak Paneer Recipe| Spinach & Cottage Cheese Curry

Palak paneer is a popular Indian dish, meaning Palak in Hindi is spinach and paneer meaning cottage cheese, It is  Indian-style cottage cheese mixed with a creamy spinach sauce that is infused with spices. Spices can be selected according to the choice, but basic spices are raw hot spices. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Palak Paneer Recipe| Spinach & Cottage Cheese Curry

  • ½ Cup Diced paneer or cottage cheese cubes
  • 3 Cup Spinach
  • ¼ Cup Finely chopped spinach
  • ½ Inch Ginger
  • 15 Pieces Garlic pods
  • ¼ Cup Whisked curd
  • ½ tsp Corinader seeds
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 Piece Green chilli
  • ½ tsp Salt (As per the taste )
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tbsp Coriander powder
  • ¼ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • ½ tbsp Clarified butter
  • 4 Piece Black pepper corn
  • 1 Piece Bay leaf
  • 2 Piece Cloves
  • 1 Piece Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Piece Cardamom
  1. In a wok add ½ a litre of water and let it boil with a pinch of salt.



  2. Add washed spinach in the hot water and let it boil.



  3. Transfer the spinach leaves into iced water.



  4. Prepare spice mix by grinding ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, coriander seeds & green chilli.



  5. The spice mix is ready.



  6. Blend the spinach to form a smooth paste.



  7. In a wok add ½ tbsp of clarified butter & saute the cottage cheese.



  8. In the same pan add the whole spices including, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cardamom, peppercorn & cloves.



  9. Add chopped onion into the wok.



  10. Add grind ingredients into the wok.



  11. Add chopped tomato and chopped spinach.



  12. Add dry spices and salt to taste.



  13. Add curd and mix it well.



  14. Add spinach blend into the wok, mix it well.



  15. Mix it well and gravy is ready.



  16. Add paneer cubes and the recipe is ready.



  17. Serve it.
