Palak Saag Recipe | Spinach Stirfry

Today I am going to share a very healthy side dish which is also known as saag in the Hindi language. This recipe is served as a side dish with rice or chapatis. There are several versions of saag which is being prepared in Indian kitchens. But today I am going to share the basic saag recipe of Bihar. This is the most simple and delicious saag I have ever tasted. In the other versions of saag one may add other leaves like mustard leaves, bathua leaves, etc. But this is the most classic saag version. Let’s start the recipe with steps. Palak Saag Recipe | Spinach Stir-fry

  • 250 gm Spinach leaves
  • ½ tsp Mustard oil
  • 1 tbsp Chopped garlic
  • 2 tbsp Chopped onion
  • 1 Piece Dried red chilli
  • ⅙ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ⅙ tsp Salt
  1. In a wok add ½ tsp of mustard oil add dried red chilli.



  2. Add chopped onion and garlic and fry unless soft.



  3. Add chopped spinach and stir fry unless soft, cover and cook it if required.



  4. As it seems cooked, so let's add salt and turmeric powder.



  5. Serve it with boiled rice or chapatis.
