Peda Recipe

Peda is a traditional sweet dish of India which belongs to Bihar/Jharkhand and U.P, at most of the pilgrimage peda is being offered to lord and then distributed among devotees, even during festival people prepare this recipe, Mathura and Baba Dham peda is very famous. Let’s learn how to prepare Peda recipe.

Peda Recipe

  • 1 tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  • 1/2 cup Tagar (Boiled and dried sugar) (Easily prepared and also available in stores )
  • 1 cup Khoya (Dried Whole Milk)
  1. Heat Clarified Butter (Ghee) in a pan.
  2. Add grated or crumbled Khoya (Dried Whole Milk) in the pan.
  3. Keep stirring with the help of spoon.
  4. When it turns little brown then turnoff the flame and let it rest in a plate.
  5. Take half a cup of tagar and add it in fried khoya.
  6. When it cools down then mix it well.
  7. Form the shapes as shown in the image.
  8. Peda is ready to be served.
