Shilparamam is the ethnic art and crafts village situated in Hyderabad. It is 14 km from nampally Railway station. It was set up in the year 1992, this park is spread in an area of 65 acres of land situated near Madhapur (adjacent to Cyber Towers). It is a major tourist attraction of Hyderabad these days. In the entrance gate, you will find two terracotta horses greet visitors at the entrance. Just after the entry, you will see lord Ganesha and lord shiva with Vasuki. This craft and art village is totally divine and rich in greenery that’s why it emits tranquil charm.

Shilparamam, a hustle terminal for various arts and handicrafts and mansion for various artists. Shilparamam has Crafts Museum, Cultural Museum, Art Gallery, Art Library, Multi-purpose Auditorium, Common Facility Workshops. One can even take a long walk in the greenery which gives peace to our mind and soul. It has quaint, peculiar and traditional ambience which can easily pacify your mind and appease your soul. In the hustle and bustle of the city and crowds of towns one can barely find such ambience, so this place is the tranquil charm for those who have scarcely seen real Indian village and tradition and cultural heritage.

This is a podium established by the government to promote and preserve Indian arts, culture and crafts and to motivate the artisans. Shilparamam is an accolade to all the traditional and cultural craftsmen of India. It brings out the visionary senses of the visitors with its rustic richness and creativity.

Shilparamam is rife with greenery and provides an unflappable environment, It is chiselled with woodwork, clothes, jewellery, and local crafts of each region of the country. The rural haunt set up amidst the trees is the embodiment of a conventional Indian village.

There are many small rotundas made especially for traditional snacks, beautiful jewellery, hand-woven saris, shawls, dresses, bedsheets, hand-crafted wooden and metal wares, pots, utensils etc. If you are looking for some street shopping, you have good options available over there.

One can visit Shilparamam at any time of the year, but visiting during festivals will definitely add more colours to the visit, due to its theme and various sobriquets available over there.

Rural Museum:

It is an area which has been depicted in the form of a village, it will exhibit rural areas of India, even the custom and rituals being followed in every Indian village can be seen here in the form of sculptures. The museum is surrounded by trees and is a miniature of a village, with the structure made of baked clay and thatch. There are life-sized sculptures and other models here that depict the daily life of rural India. 

Rock Museum:

Subroto Basu from Shantiniketan has built a rock garden here with his own rock collections using natural rock formations found in the village. This Rock Museum represents a special ecological side to Shilparamam.

Sculpture Park: 

The various sculptures here include metal sculptures of a rooster fight, crocodile, scorpion, peacock, monster bike etc. The main attraction here, however, remains the huge sculpture of Gulliver.

Other attractions of Shilparamam:

Bullock cart: Only those who hail from the rural area knows how it feels to ride on a bullock cart, but here in shilparamam one can enjoy bullock cart riding in a serene environment.

Portrait Sketch & Mehndi art: Just after the entry you will see many artists who draw beautiful mehndi on your hands in a minimal amount, it is up to you which design you want to be drawn. Even many artists are there who can sketch a similar portrait of yours just in few minutes.

Boating: Shilparamam comprises of a beautiful lake, where one can enjoy boating.

Battery car: There is a battery-operated car which can take you to the tour of shilparamam. Even those who are unable to walk they can enjoy this ride and also those who are differently-abled can use a wheelchair to see the tranquillity of nature here in shilparamam.

Amphitheatre: The amphitheatre provides the perfect milieu for people to relax and enjoy a variety of cultural programmes like classical music, dance & folk art performances every weekend. This Amphitheatre has the capacity of 1500 people, the artists who come across the country performs here. Theatre plays and dance performances are held here regularly. The amphitheatre has given an impetus to folk arts like Yakshagana, Bahrathiyam, Kuchipudi and all traditional arts.

Children Play Area, Wooden Swings, Rabbit & Birds: Just proceeding towards the middle of the village area one can see a play area for children, where slides, swings, and monkey-bar are available, even there are some wooden swings which are for elders as well.

There are few small cages with rabbits and birds which gives a feeling of zoo over here, which is amusemnt for children’s.

Snacks stalls:  There are stalls of indian snacks which can be enjoyed if anyone wants to take a break after a wonderful walk.
