Spicy Brown Chickpea Chola Recipe
As in my previous recipe of brown chickpea chola I had prepared a thick gravy, but this time I’ve used only different concoction of spices to prepare the gravy, this recipe is best for summer session, as there is no any hot spices that can make it heavy, but instead the spices being used here is very light and delightful. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.
Spicy Brown Chickpea Chola Recipe
- 1 cup Overnight soaked Brown Chickpeas
- 3 tbsp Diced potatoes
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Piece Red dried chili
- 1 Piece Bay leaf
- 4 tbsp Chopped Onion
- 1 cup Chopped Tomatoes
- 3 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
- 1 tsp Chopped Ginger
- 1 tsp Chopped Garlic
- 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
- 1 tbsp Chopped Green chili
- 1 tsp kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Kashmiri lal mirch powder
- 1 tbsp Salt (As per your Taste)
- 1 tsp Amchoor Powder
- 1 tbsp Chole Masala Powder
- Heat a cooker and add cumin seeds, dried red chili and bay leaf, add 2 tbsp of mustard oil into it.
- Add chopped ingredients into the cooker and stir fry them.
- Add diced potatoes along with all the spices.
- Add brown chickpeas into the cooker and stir fry them for some more time.
- Add some chopped coriander leaves.
- Add a cup of water and pressure cook it for 20 minutes or with 4 whistles.
- after the whistle it will look like this.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and the recipe is ready to be served.
